Help Preserve Our Monarch Butterfly Population

Did you know…

Approximately 90% of the monarch population has experienced a significant decline. Factors such as habitat loss, lack of their primary food source–the milkweed plant–pesticide exposure, and climate change have all contributed to their decrease. As a result, this butterfly species is now on the brink of extinction.

01

Habitat Loss

Located across most of North America, Mexico, southern Canada, and the United States, Monarchs are a widespread species that have been suffering since the mid 1990s. After the conversion of vast grasslands and forests to agricultural and urban areas, Monarchs are now left with unsuitable living conditions that have directly reduced their butterfly population.
